Converting
music to an MP3 file
Your music must be an MP3 file to be used by the vocal remover
software. Check first to see if your music file is mp3 format:
Windows:
Right-click on the music file, choose Properties, and make
sure "Type of file:" is .mp3.
MAC:
Hold the Control Key while you click on the music file, then
choose Get Info, and make sure it shows Kind: MP3 Audio File
If the file is an mp3 file, click here.
If you have recently downloaded the music from iTunes, and
you're sure it's the new unprotected type of music,
If the file is an older DRM-protected iTunes file, a
Windows Media file, or a WMV or M4P file, there is
a two step process required to convert your music into
a standard MP3 file.
1. First, create a music-format CD with the music.
2. Then, convert (or "rip") the music from the CD into MP3 format*.
Yes, it seems a little strange to have to make a CD in order to
convert the music, but this is required to move the music from the
non-standard music service formats into standard MP3 format.
Your first step is to create a music-format CD with the songs on it.
Most music services have the ability to create (or "burn") a music CD.
Creating a music CD using iTunes
Checkmark the songs you want to burn to the CD, then
click the "Burn Disc" button on the lower-right corner.
Apple offers a tutorial on this process here:
http://www.apple.com/support/ilife/tutorials/itunes/it4-2.html
Once your music is on a music CD, click here.
Creating a music CD using Windows Media Player
Click the "Burn" tab at the top of the screen.
Drag the songs to the right side of the screen to create a burn list.
Then click the "Start Burn" button on the lower-right corner.
Once your music is on a music CD, click here.
